Fashion before the World War II - Beatriz Costa
Hello everyone!!
Here we meet again, hopefully with health and safety!!
In this new post i`m going to take you back to fashion before the Second World War.
Basically in the 1930´s and 1940´s fashion was very simple and easy because of the difficulties the countries were going through, because of the conflicts that ended in war.
I found this little excerpt that concludes more or less the fashion before the Second World War:
"During the 1930s, two things in specific would mark the decade; wearing pants as a daily clothing piece and elegant evening dresses. Even though the female body was back at being in focus, pants became more of more of an item to count on. Though it was still mainly in sports events, Hollywood stars such as Joan Bennett, Greta Garbo, Katharine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman wore the pants as a fashion item. As for evening dresses, they kept the glam life alive by embodying simplified luxury, but more on that below."
Even though a lot of years have pass we can still see some resemblance of this style in our daily lives. Because it caused a big change globally, making a lot of pieces fashionable until these days.
My sincere opinion is that the fashion before the Second World War was very practical and stylish considering the times they were going through, giving them some freedom to show their emotions without speaking. Although they were wearing a lot of defined dresses, they always tried to be as humble as possible because of the economic problems and the constant running from attacks.
I hope you found this interesting!
