Baby Boomers- Economic Benefits
Hello everyone, I´m Beatriz Costa!
I hope you are all doing well during this horrible times!!
Today I come here to you with a continuation of the last post- Baby boom!!
The baby boom phenomenon had a lot of benefics and some consequences, but today we are going to talk about the economic benefits.
Well as you probably already know after the World War II births rates elevated drastically, improving considerably the economic figures.
The economic figures increased because the baby market, such as buying clothes, utensils, strollers and baby bottels increased considerably, giving them some stability to continue open and ready to work, which was a difficult thing to do during the War. It was also a benefit because as the baby boomers aged manufacturers and advertises targeted this gigantic demographic. As children, their proliferation drove the construction of the new schools and suburbs. As teenagers, they dominated the popular culture of the 1950s and 1960s, buying clothes and records. As adults, they were not going to stay babys forever so after some years they started to work to support their families, to pay taxes and eventually they would fill the work place of another person that went to retirement.
As this impacts started to show we could see America as differnt place, with more smiles, with more light and with less weight on their shoulders. Giving them some inpiration to start working on the new lifes and to live life to the fullest.
All of this were great beneficts that helped the country leave the dark and low spot they were for several years.
As for me I would have loved to be a fly on those times to see the happiness in the parents face(as most of the fathers were american warriors that spent years without seing their loved ones) and to see the country rejuvenate by itself.
What about you would you like to travel to that time??
For today that`s all, I hope you learned something and that you found it interesting.
Goodbye and see you next time!!
